The brochure presents glass for strength, heat, ageing and water resistance, and polyester for toughness, in one isotropic sheet rather than a woven grid. It is aimed at hot-mix asphalt overlays.
The manufacturer’s claim is a continuous waterproof layer that does not shrink under hot asphalt, plus a stiff, low-elongation reinforcement once the tack coat has bonded. Because the sheet is not a woven textile, the brochure says it can be milled with the asphalt and recycled.
What the brochure emphasises
- Waterproof interlayer under asphalt concrete.
- Reduces stress at joints and existing cracks.
- Described as millable for pavement recycling.
Uses named in the brochure
- Asphalt overlays on existing pavements.
- Joints and cracked areas that need a stress-relief layer.
Laying notes printed in the brochure
These are the manufacturer’s notes. They do not replace the project specification or the engineer’s method statement.
- Clean the surface of dirt, loose stone and dust before laying.
- Repair cracks wider than about 6 mm, and fill potholes or broken areas.
- Use a hot-asphalt tack coat. The brochure says emulsion asphalt should not be used.
- The brochure gives a preferred binder temperature of 163–204 °C.
- Lay the fabric while the asphalt is still fluid, so the sheet can take up binder.
- Lay only when the air temperature is above 4 °C.
