Ecological bag

A bag in polypropylene or polyester needle-punched nonwoven, for flexible vegetated slopes. The brochure describes a UV-stabilised fabric that passes water and holds soil.

The fabric is a double-sided, heat-calendered needle-punched nonwoven. The brochure says the specification screens thickness, mass, strength, shape, fiber, the way the bag is loaded, aperture for plant growth, and UV resistance.

It is described as resistant to ultraviolet light and ageing, non-toxic, and not a support for flame. A tear is described as staying local rather than running. The main use is a flexible green slope: barren hills, mine restoration, highway batters, riverbanks and inland waterways.

What the brochure emphasises

  • Does not absorb water, and is described as keeping its shape when wet.
  • Described as resistant to a range of acids and alkalis, including on polluted ground.
  • Described as not supporting fungal growth, and not a food for termites, rodents and similar animals.
  • Holds soil back and lets water through, so vegetation can establish.

Uses named in the brochure

  • Mine and barren-hill restoration.
  • Highway slopes.
  • Riverbanks and inland waterway training.

Stated in the brochure

  • The brochure describes the bag as permanently non-degradable. Ask for the aging data if the design life of the slope depends on it.
