Company brochure

Tri-planar composite drainage net

An HDPE net with a stiff longitudinal core and two crossing layers that keep the geotextile out of the flow path. Geotextile is bonded to both faces.

The brochure describes a three-layer core. The middle ribs run lengthwise and carry water. The crossed ribs stop the geotextile being pressed into the channels, including under high load.

With geotextile on both sides the composite is presented as filtration, drainage, venting and protection in one sheet.

For landfills the brochure lists groundwater drainage, a leak-detection layer, leachate collection, gas collection in the cap, and surface-water collection on the cap.

What the brochure emphasises

  • Keeps a drainage path when the soil load is high.
  • Geotextile bonded to both faces.
  • Described as resistant to corrosion and to acids and alkalis.

Uses named in the brochure

  • Railways, highways, tunnels, municipal works, reservoirs and slopes.
  • Landfill drainage and gas layers, as listed above.

Stated in the brochure

  • Drainage is compared in the brochure with about one metre of gravel.
  • A long-term compressive load of about 3,000 kPa is stated.
  • The index table of flow and strength is printed and is not legible enough to copy.
